Decade: 1960s
Like, far out, man! Groovy. When people think of the 1960s, they understandably assume that advertising during this age was probably "outta sight!" But surprisingly, 1960s advertising was not only pretty conventional, it sometimes took potshots at the anti-establishment. It wouldn't be until the 1970s when advertising would be more reflective of the times, although there were small signs of what was to come in ads that emulated psychedelic art.
